Leading Geotechnical and Surveying Engineering company with projects across Australia is seeking a talented civil or geotechnical engineering final year student or graduate to their their fieldwork team for a 12-week Geotechnical Engineer Internship. This field-based internship in geotechnical engineering will provide you with direct industry experience to start your career as a Geotechncial Engineer.

Keen to start your career in Geotechnical Engineering? Join one of Australia’s biggest infrastructure companies undertaking major surveying, soil engineering, planning and field-based geotechnical engineering projects across Australia. As a final year civil engineering or geotechnical engineering student or recent graduate, you will be based in the field performing surveying work. In addition, you will be involved in foundation piling, slope stabilisation and ground improvement.

As a Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will learn a range of software including Total Station for construction measurement, engineering and monitoring. If you have a passion for fieldwork and surveying for infrastructure projects, the Geotechnical Engineering Internship will help you gain vital industry experience to start your career in Australia.

Geotechnical Engineer Internship roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice to operations during greenfield analysis on reserves quality, drilling programs and geotechnical parameters
  • Undertake soil investigations and surveying work in the field
  • Supporting the senior geotechnical engineering team with surveying and footings
  • Provide geotechnical reviews and advice to stakeholders, and track and manage areas of risk
  • Conduct PERC/JORC reporting for reserves and resources
  • Identify and support operations with shortage of reserves, and assess appropriate replacement reserves
